December 13th, 2009 Evan

The BBC story titled “Dirty Tricks and Toxic Waste in the Ivory Coast” was on the BBCs website until it vanished, completely deleted from the website. It was deleted short after Trafigura made legal threats aimed at the BBC about the story.

According to Wikipedia Trafigura is a multi billion dollar corporation, their net income for 1993 was $440 Billion USD and they deal in Oil and base metal trading. Trafigura is the world’s third largest private oil and metals trader.

This file contains a deleted BBC news article on the toxic-waste dumping of commodities giant Trafigura. According to a September 2009 UN report, the dumping drove 108,000 people in the Ivory Coast to seek medical attention.
