There are so many things wrong with this its almost funny… First off it only reinforces the oxymoron “Military Intelligence”. You would think that the US army has the capabilities to prevent armature hackers from using off the shelf software to crack into their drones? This is actually in my opinion not acceptable at all and is far worse than just a little muck up, what other technologies are out their that bad guys can easily hack into? What about all those CCTVs in the UK, how well secured are all their video feeds? This incident really opens up a whole can of worms, this is what happens when you rely on technology that was poorly programmed and hastily made with out thinking of security and the repercussions of what happens when your security fails to do its job.
What happens if they actually find a hacker that is actually good at what he does and is able to take control of one of the US armys Predator drones? How secure is this stuff really?
